Activating Windows Seven God Mode, Uber Elite Control Panel
Windows Seven contains a few “Easter eggs” or features for-the-finding. One of these, has been nicknamed “God Mode”, an uber-elite combination of the control panel, system manager, and other assorted control panels, combined to form an AIO (all-in-one) master control panel.
The benefits and applications of such an uber-elite control panel, to any IT savvy computer user, systems administrator, or technician are limitless; Easier and more direct access to troubleshooting and diagnosing system issues, system maintenance, LDAP and domain client-side configuration, etc.
To activate the “God Mode” control panel, we need to create a folder with the specific system registry trigger, included in the folder name. This quick visual guide will cover how to do this in under two minutes.
How to enable the God Mode control panel:
1. Create the folder.
First, create a new folder. For this example, I am simply doing this on my desktop via the right-click context menu.

Create a new folder in your target location.
2. Rename the folder with the specific string.
Rename the folder to specifically be: GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} . Failure to include this in the folder name will result in this Easter egg not working as expected.
Copy & Paste:

Rename the folder. If you've allowed it to set a default "New folder" name, simply right-click and rename it.

Rename and insert the text exactly as shown into the folder name.
3. Verify functionality.
The folder having been renamed, Windows has recognized the specific key we’ve included in the name, and has changed it’s appearance, and functionality. Hovering over the folder with the cursor interestingly will still display to us that the item still behaves as a folder within the operating system. Yet while opening it, will display a new and previously hidden control panel.

The first part of the new folder name has remained, while the second part has disappeared from view. The folder appearance has changed, and opening this folder now manifests a new control panel.
4. CTRL
Open your new control panel and enjoy your new found glory.
There are 266 system administration related tasks, items, and locations you can now access easily and readily all from this singular control panel. They are sorted into collapse sections of a list view, and allow you to quickly set only the preferred system tasks, tools, and utilities to be seen within your view.
Excellent work. Thanks Microsoft!
For further information on this tweak, please see the notes section below.
Notes:
- The GodMode. prefix to the folder name can be changed, however it is important that you leave the subsequent string intact, as otherwise, the operating system will not identify the specific key and will not make the folder perform as the desired new control panel.
- There have been rumors that this does not work properly on Windows 7 x86_64 systems. At my creating this post, I have done this on three separate Windows 7 x86_64 systems, and have had no issues. My advice: treat the rumors, as rumors.
- This trick will work for Microsoft Windows Seven and Windows Vista operating systems, both x86_32 and x86_64

Hi Tanner,
Thanks for the tip, really nice.
I have a further question you might have a solution for. I want to create a default user profile but I do not have much knowledge on using CopyProfile parameter in an Unattend.xml.
Is there a more simple method like there used to be in XP?
Cheers,
Les
